Music Video

I love this Video, A sense of solitude and vastness.
The feeling of abandonment in the location, With a sense of lovely vintage.
and using a lot of the Vertigo effect, and ending with a climax of light.

Photography

Using a Nikon Coolpix P90

However saving up to upgrade to a Canon EOS 70D after operating one for a short film thanks to a friend.
I feel that The Canon EOS 70D would increase my work standard, especially regarding detail, as often the Nikon Coolpix P90 Lacks in detail quality.

THE TEA CHRONICLES

Absolutely love the style they used,
The story of a new room mate whose job was to make tea, but soon ruins that as well, leading the main protagonist of the story to go bonkers, while the room mate keeps making more tea, and sending poor Charlie into a Tea hell hole.

The quality of filming is outstanding, the music usage is brilliant and the lighting is absolutely fantastic!
Inspirational.

Doctor Who

I've always admired the Narrative of Doctor Who, a Non-linear narrative structure, The editing shows a good number of cuts from one long distance shot to a close shot, or simply from one to another.
The amount of special effects is outstandingly gorgeous.

REFLECTING ON TECHNIQUE

I fell in love with this technique almost immediately, a way to draw attention to the viewer and keep them interested on what is being said. Almost admittedly I felt that the typography was going all over the place and it made no sense, but i had seen the point of it in the end, and it was fantastic!
I love the idea of using this sort of technique (Typography) and It had been done using Adobe After Affects, and I'm hoping for looking a tutorial to get a hang of using this fantastic technique, in which might help me draw in my viewers for school presentations and/or assignments.

PLURALITY- Short Film

One of the most incredible short films i've seen so far.
Excellent Editing, the effects to give a certain modern technological look to it,
the camera angles and movement,
the chase scenes and the story plot itself.
Incredible.

According to the people behind this,
they made this video in only 2 years with very little money, and are a very small team.

I was very impressed, even for their standard of situation with low budgets and a small team, it looked incredibly professional, almost movie/t.v. show worthy.

PANIC

Beautiful and simple animation, with incredible story telling,
using the 1920's feel to the animation in grey and white as well as the style of music and even the way the characters dance (called the Charleston dance). Using mostly the common "cuts" from one scene to the other, with the exception of fading at the end of the video. Certain camera angles gives more feel towards the video, such as the dutch angle at 0:45-0:53 this gives emphasis on power, which is mostly the superiority of the aliens that are invading earth.
The video is mostly Black and White, however I've noticed it gave importance to red, which I believe could have made us relate this colour to danger or even love, love being the robots love for music and the danger being the invasion. It could also be that Monochrome betweenn black, white, grey and red would have made the video seem more pleasing to the eye. If the video was just Black and white there wouldn't be a touch of modern, and it would have looked dull all throughout, so they can attract the eye with a bright colour.

The Video is lovely. Brilliant animation, brilliant camera shots, brilliant editing. and mostly the song and the video story telling itself.

The Great Gatsby

“Gatsby believed in the green light, the orgastic future that year by year recedes before us. It eluded us then, but that's no matter - to-morrow we will run faster, stretch out our arms farther ... And one fine morning ---”

A novel Classic By F.Scott Fitzgerald,
I loved both the book and the movie, it seems that in the movie they had tried hard to attract even the youngest of viewers to sit down and watch this incredible heart breaking story of romance.
The Characters were beautifully portrayed as in the book, the scenes were extraordinary--just how it's meant to be. A man who had the whole of New York in his hands during one of his Extravagant parties, a man willing to gain so much attention.
An attention with reason.
The music used for this film was modern, but it did give a slight touch of 1920's, the era the book was set in.
Some musical artist like Beyonce and Lana Del Ray easily attracts the younger crowd, yet kept with an upbeat and Jazzy feel.

I loved the beautiful scene of this strange mysterious figure out on the dock, stretch his arms out to this green light across the bay, it showed emotion, and the camera angle of choice, a close up of his hand reaching further out into this black watery mass, and a sudden green light slowly fades into vision, impossibly in love with Mrs.Daisy Buchannon, the reason for his need to reach the green light, as the green light was set on her dock.

The wonderful techniques of filming, the music, the character development and the editing, inspires me to one day use some to my advantage.
